Between Shaves
Most razor-bump treatments are built around salicylic acid, an acne ingredient. Between Shaves is formulated around 5% glycolic acid, the acid actually studied, by name, for razor bumps, made for the days you don't shave.
Aqua (Water), Glycolic Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Vitis-Idaea (Lingonberry) Fruit Extract, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Parfum (Natural).
Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin on the neck as often as you'd like on days you don't shave — once a night is typical. Let it fully absorb before dressing. We recommend nighttime use, since glycolic acid increases sun sensitivity; if you apply during the day, always follow with SPF. New to acids? Patch-test on a small area first and watch for 24 hours before applying more widely.
Yes. Between Shaves is safe to use on any skin tone or color, including sensitive skin. It has no synthetic fragrance and is formulated at a lower strength specifically for reactive, post-shave skin. As with any exfoliating acid, stop use and consult a dermatologist if you notice any unusual or adverse reaction.

You don't have bad skin.
You've been sold the wrong acid.
Most razor-bump treatments are built around salicylic acid, an oil-soluble acid developed and studied for acne. A razor bump isn't an oil-clogged pore. It's a curved, sharp hair tip physically re-piercing the skin, trapped under a layer of thickened dead skin. Using an acne acid on that is solving the wrong problem.

Salicylic Acid
- ✕Oil-soluble, built to dissolve clogged, greasy pores
- ✕Developed and studied for acne, a different problem
- ✕No evidence it reaches the hair shaft or its curl pattern
- ✕Treats the inflammation it causes, not the mechanical cause

Glycolic Acid (5%)
- ✓Water-soluble, reaches the surface buildup trapping the hair
- ✓The acid studied by name in dermatology literature for razor bumps
- ✓Clinical reviews describe a theorized second mechanism: may help reduce sulfhydryl bonds in the hair shaft, encouraging straighter regrowth
- ✓Formulated to address the buildup, and possibly the hair itself, not just the redness
Fits into the routine you already have
-
01
Shave as usual
Use your normal razor and routine. Rinse with cool water afterward to close the pores.
-
02
Let it settle
Skip Between Shaves on shave day itself. Let freshly shaved skin calm down for 24 hours.
-
03
Apply between shaves
On off-days, smooth a thin layer over the neck at night. No rinsing. Let it absorb fully before dressing.
-
04
Repeat nightly
Use as often as you'd like on non-shave days; once a night is typical. This is a consistency play, not a one-time fix, and most people notice change within two to three weeks.
Four actives. No filler.
We kept the formula short on purpose. Every ingredient in Between Shaves is doing a specific job for irritated, post-shave skin.
The acid studied by name for razor bumps. Loosens the surface buildup trapping regrowing hair. Clinical reviews also describe a theorized second mechanism: it may help reduce sulfhydryl bonds in the hair shaft, encouraging straighter regrowth.
Used in a small amount to partially neutralize the glycolic acid, buffering the formula's pH so it exfoliates effectively without being harsh on reactive, post-shave skin.
A source of proanthocyanidins and anthocyanins studied for calming, antioxidant support on irritated skin.
Cited in ingredient literature for antioxidant and skin-calming properties, added to support skin that's already stressed from shaving.

As often as you'd like on the days you don't shave — there's no upper limit. Most people settle into using it once a night.
Yes. Like all AHAs, glycolic acid can increase your skin's sensitivity to UV light, so we recommend applying Between Shaves at night. If you do use it during the day, follow up with a broad-spectrum SPF and limit direct sun exposure on treated skin.
We recommend waiting at least a day. Freshly shaved skin is more reactive, so give it time to settle before introducing glycolic acid.
Between Shaves is formulated at a lower, frequent-use strength (5%) specifically for skin that's already dealing with razor stress. It's not a peel. Most people don't get the sting associated with alcohol-based bump treatments, but we'd still recommend patch-testing first if you're new to acids.
Yes. 5% is a maintenance strength meant for regular use between shaves, not a one-time treatment. The clinical literature on glycolic acid for razor bumps largely studied in-office peel strengths; this is formulated for consistent, low-irritation use over time instead.

Most people notice a difference within two to three weeks of consistent use. Like any exfoliation routine, results depend on staying consistent. It isn't a one-time fix.
